Create a visual identity for a complex topic, the storage potential of geological clay layers for radioactive wastes, was the request of Andra, the French Agency for their management.
The subject of an international conference, to be held in France in December 2002, the solution had to incorporate the eventual change of venue of future locations.

The visual identity for the congress is based on this vertical logo/image which simply assembles the sponsor, or host of the event, Andra,

the first venue for the congress, in this case Reims, in France,

and a graphic representation of geological layers of the earth where-in lies the interest zone (yellow square).

These elements provide the basis of the identity of the congress which is applied throughout the various documents : posters, mailings, tracts, stationery, publications, signage, badges and ads.
